CleanMy® PC is no longer actively developed

On December 1, 2021, MacPaw ceased active development of CleanMy® PC. In this article, we explain why and what it meant for users at the time.

We at MacPaw made a strategic decision to focus our system maintenance and cleaning utilities on the Apple ecosystem.

Since honesty and care for our users have always been among our core values, we announced that we would no longer actively develop CleanMy® PC. This allowed us to concentrate on creating new products and improving existing ones, such as CleanMyMac, CleanMy®Phone, Setapp, and others.

Between the end of active development and the CleanMy® PC sunset, the following changes were in place:

  • You could still use CleanMy® PC.

    Until the sunset, we guaranteed the app's safety, stability, full functionality, and support on computers that met the system requirements:

    • Windows 7, 8, 10, or 11
    • About 50 MB of disk space for installation
    • 2 GB of RAM

    After the sunset, we no longer guarantee app's stability or compatibility with any version of Windows.

  • Only critical bugs were fixed.

    No new features, improvements, or compatibility updates were released.

  • CleanMy® PC moved from subscriptions to licenses.

    • All active subscribers automatically received a full-featured, non-expiring license.

      The transition was free and required no action—your subscription was converted to a license, and we notified you by email.

    • To check the type and status of your license, you could use our online License Manager.

      The Subscription Manager was no longer available for CleanMy® PC.

    • If you already had a license, there were no changes—you could continue using the app as usual.

    • For new users, only a one-time purchase of a non-expiring license was offered at the MacPaw Store.

      After the sunset, CleanMy® PC is no longer available for purchase.
