Manage app autorun

Running apps automatically when Windows starts is convenient, but some annoying apps don't ask your permission first. Meanwhile, manually removing autorun data can be complicated due to the many locations where it's stored.

CleanMy® PC gathers all apps that run at Windows startup in a single list, letting you manage which apps should run automatically. To do this:

  1. Open CleanMy® PC and go to Autorun.

  2. If you're using Autorun for the first time after installation, click Start Using to scan for and detect all apps that run at Windows startup.

Otherwise, CleanMy® PC will display a list of apps automatically.

  3. Review the list and either turn off the automatic start for apps or remove apps completely from autorun.

    Note

Turning off an app removes it from the autorun preferences but keeps it in the list so you can turn it on later if needed. Removing autorun files deletes them permanently from your computer and removes the app from the list.

    • To turn off an app's automatic start, click the toggle next to the app you don't want to run at Windows startup. If the switch is gray, it's already off.

    • To remove autorun files for an app, select the checkbox next to the app you don't want to start with Windows, then click Remove at the bottom of the app window.

If you need to re-scan the apps, click Refresh at the bottom of the app window—this discards the current results and selections (but doesn't change the autorun status), and updates the list.
