Threat alerts

(Updated: )

CleanMyMac Business lets Owners and Admins set up and receive email alerts so they can respond quickly when a threat is detected on a device in their Organization. These alerts help you stay informed—get real-time updates on threats, act faster to neutralize risks, and protect your Organization from malware spread.

There are two types of alerts:

  • Threat found

This alert notifies you immediately when a threat is detected on one of your Organization's devices. It shows the threat type (for example, rootkit), the affected device, the user's email address, and the discovery time. Click Learn More to view details and take action to eliminate the threat.

  • Threat still present

If a threat remains unresolved after a set time (for example, one hour), you get a follow-up alert. It warns that the threat is still active and may endanger your Organization—prompting immediate action. Click Learn More to open the Threats tab in the Admin Dashboard and review all threats.

Turn alerts on or off

  1. In the Admin Dashboard, sign in to your Owner or Admin account.

  2. In the upper-right corner, click your profile picture and choose Account Settings.

The Settings page opens in a new browser tab.

  3. In the Email Alerts section, turn the following options on or off:

    • Threat Detection: Receive instant alerts when a threat is found.

    • Threat Needs Your Attention: Receive alerts if a threat isn't removed within a defined time.

You can customize time to ensure your security team acts on persistent threats.
